कन्नडीगांनो उत्तर द्या! Answer this Kannadigas!

बेळगाव सीमाभाग पुन्हा उफाळून आलाय. दोन्ही राज्यात तोडफोड- जाळपोळीस ऊत आलाय. असं म्हणतात की आपण आपले शेजारी निवडू शकत नाही. कर्नाटकचा शेजार खरोखर अत्यंत तापदायक असा आहे. कर्नाटकचा स्वभावच मुळी उर्मट, बालिश, दुटप्पी व हेकेखोर आहे. महाराष्ट्रासोबत इतर राज्यांनाही याचा फटका बसला आहे. महाराष्ट्रातील लोकांना सीमाप्रश्नाविषयी अधिक माहिती करुन देणे व कर्नाटकचा खरा चेहरा लोकांसमोर आणणे हाच या लेखाचा हेतू आहे. ज्या बेळगावावर हे कन्नडिग आमचा म्हणून आरडाओरड करतात त्यांना खालील प्रश्नाची उत्तरे द्यावीत-

* बेळगाव हा मराठीबहुल भाग आहे. आजही तेथील तीन-चतुर्थांश लोक मराठी भाषा बोलतात. भारतातील प्रांतरचना जर भाषावार झाली आहे तर बेळगाव हे नैसर्गीक न्यायाने मराठी बोलणा-या महाराष्ट्रात यायला हवे. यावर काही वाद होवूच कसा शकतो?

* महाजन आयोग अंतिम असल्याची पोपटपंची सर्व कर्नाटकी मुख्यमंत्री करीत असतात. महाजन आयोग हा लवादाचा वा कोणत्याही न्यायालयाचा निर्णय नसून तो महाराष्ट्राला वा केंद्राला बंधनकारक नाही. केरळ सरकारनेही महाजन आयोग कच-याच्या टोपलीत घातलाय! फक्त आपल्या बाजूने गेला म्हणून महाजन आयोगचे तुणतुणे कर्नाटक वाजवीत आला आहे.
त्याच बरोबर हे लक्षात घ्यायला पाहिजे की कावेरी जलविवादाबाबतचा लवादाचा अहवाल कर्नाटकने अमान्य केला आहे. या दुटप्पीपणाला काय म्हणावे?

* बेळगाव आमचेच अशी वल्गना करणारे कर्नाटक तेथील मराठी बहुसंख्यांकांच्या मागणीकडे दुर्लक्ष करते पण असणारे केरळ राज्यातील कासारगोड बाबत मात्र ते कर्नाटकात यायला हवे (कारण तेथे कन्नड भाषीक बहुसंख्य आहेत) असा गळा काढते! मला हे पण हवे आणि ते पण असा बालिश हट्ट कर्नाटकचा आहे. दुर्दैवाने कर्नाटक सरकारची ही निर्लज्ज भुमिका कन्नड जनता खपवून घेते.

* काही महामूर्ख लोक तर बेळगावातील मराठी जनता परप्रांतिय (migrants) आहेत व बेळगावातच काय महाराष्ट्रातील अनेक गावे आधी कन्नड असल्याचा जावईशोध लावतात! तसाच न्याय लावायचा झाला तर अर्ध्याहून अधिक कर्नाटक मराठ्यांच्या ताब्यात होते व कर्नाटकच काय पण मराठी झेंडा अटकेपार गेला आहे, तर आम्ही अफगाणिस्तानाचे विलिनीकरण महाराष्ट्रात करावे काय?

* कर्नाटकातील जनतेची तेथील नेतेमंडळी इतर राज्यांबद्दल तिरस्कार पसरवून दिशाभूल करत आहेत. महाराष्ट्रासोबत बेळगाव विवाद, तामिळनाडूसोबत कावेरी जलविवाद, केरळसोबत कासारगोड बाबतचा विवाद आहेच. त्यात भर म्हणून सध्याच्या बेळगाव अधिवेशनात आंध्राशी नवा सीमावाद ही कर्नाटकी नेत्यांची टोळी उकरुन काढत आहे!

आम्ही महाराष्ट्र सरकारच्या बोटचेपीपणाबद्दल निषेध करीत आहोत . केंद्र सरकारने कर्नाटकला योग्य ती अद्दल घडवण्याची गरज आहे.



Belgaon (Belgaum) border issue has come into limelight yet again. Both states are witnessing widespread protests . It is said that we can't choose our neighbours! Maharashtra's neighbouring state, Karnataka is indeed very troublesome. Karnataka has always been arrogant, childish and hypocrite in its dealings with its neighbours including Maharashtra. This post is meant to expose real face of Karnataka and educate Marathi people about this highly emotional Belgaum issue. Kannadigas which are crying out 'Belgaum is our indivisible part' on rooftops should stop the rhetoric and answer following questions-

* Belgaon (Belgaum) has always been a Marathi-majority area. Even today three-fourths of Belgaonkars speak Marathi. If India's states are formed according to lingual composition, Belgaum should be in Maharashtra according to natural justice. Is there any element of contention here?

* All Karnatakan chief ministers speak of 'Mahajan report' of being final. Mahajan report is not the verdict of any court or tribunal.This report is not accepted, not implemented and not mandatory to Maharashtra or Centre. Even Kerala has thrown the report to the place it deserves, dustbin. Karnataka is fond of Mahajan report only because its findings favoured them. Intrestingly Karnataka has rejected the verdict of Cauvery tribunal. These are Karnataka's double-standards.

* Karnataka ignores the Marathi majority in Belgaum while claiming it as their own however it also asks for Kasargod (on the grounds that it has Kannada majority!) Karnataka wants to have cake and it eat it too! This childish and shameless attitude of Karnataka government is unfortunately endorsed by its people.

* Some Kannada extrimists have invented new way to justify Belgaum's detention by claiming that Marathis are migrants in Belgaum. And that half of Maharashtra town names are Kannada. Fine, but how about the fact that Marathas have ruled more than half of Karnataka and their reign extended till Atak in Afghanistan. Should we seek merger of Afghanistan?

* Kannadigas should understand that their leaders are fooling them by creating misunderstandings and hatred towards neighbouring states. Belgaum dispute with Maharashtra, Cauvery water dispute with Tamil Nadu, Kasargod issue with Kerala are unnecessarily being raked up and intensified. In the ongoing Belgaon assembly session, this gang of Karnataka leaders have discovered yet another border dispute with neighbouring Andhra to fool Kannadigas.

We condemn Maharashtra government's spineless response to Belgaon dispute. Centre should take appropriate action against warring Karnataka.

कुमार केतकरांच्या घरावर हल्ला! Attack on editor Kumar Ketkar's house

कुमार केतकर यांच्या घरावर झालेल्या हल्ल्यामुळे त्यांच्याविषयी व एकूणच 'पत्रकारजाती'वर सहानुभूतीचा वर्षाव होत आहे. 'लोकसत्ता' मधील अग्रलेख ज्यांनी वाचला असेल त्यांच्या भुवया नक्कीच उंचावल्या असतील. छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांचा पुतळा मुंबईत उभारला जाणार असल्याची सरकारने घोषणा केली आणि ती पुढील निवडणुकीसाठी होती हे अनेकांना वाटले. या प्रकल्पावर खूप खर्च होत आहे हे सुध्दा सर्वच मान्य करतील. परंतु सामान्यत: अमेरिकेतील स्टॅच्यू ऑफ लिबर्टी च्या धर्तीवर उभारल्या जाणा-या या प्रकल्पामुळे मराठी मने सुखावली हे नक्की.

कुमार केतकर हे मोठे पत्रकार आहेत. त्यांनी महाराष्ट्रातील ज्या तक्रारी व जे प्रश्न अग्रलेखात मांडले त्याविषयी दुमत असण्याचे कारण नाही. सरकारचा कारभार देखिल त्यांना जोडे मारण्याच्याच लायकीचा आहे! परंतु कुमार केतकर यांनी अग्रलेखात छ्त्रपती शिवाजी महाराज यांच्याबद्दल अप्रत्यक्षपणे टीका केली आहे; त्यांचा अवमान केला आहे. त्यांच्या अग्रलेखातील काही झोंबणारी आक्षेपार्ह विधाने येथे देत आहोत-

Instantly after the renaming, trains began to run on time, crowds could be managed, corruption
disappeared, the local train journey became comfortable..Could this have happened without the
glory of the name of Shivaji Maharaj that adorns the station now?

Both are now renamed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj airport terminal. Like a magic wand, the airports became efficient, employees began to behave courteously, flights were punctual, take-offs and landings perfect, no more hovering in the sky looking for landing spots. Who would have believed this if it had not actually been experienced by the people? Was it possible without the miracle called Shivaji Maharaj?

Naturally, the government felt that having solved all the problems of the people, what remains to be done is to tell the whole world of the greatness of Shivaji. Along with the museum, there will be shopping malls, selling T-shirts with Shivaji’s painting. There will be Shivaji key chains, Shivaji gift items, including cutlery.

Could there have been a greater tribute to the image, symbol and glory of Shivaji Maharaj than such a statue, standing in the middle of the sea, warning all the terrorists to keep off Mumbai, and to keep away from India because the people of Maharashtra protect and promote the idea of a Great India?

मुंबईच्या परप्रांतियांप्रमाणे केतकरांना शिवाजी महाराजांचे नाव रेल्वे स्थानक, विमानतळ यांना दिल्याचे आवडलेले दिसत नाही. हे खरंच त्या विमानतळाचे/रेल्वे स्थानकाचे नाव बदलल्याने कारभार बदलत नाही, पण त्यामागील symbolism प्रतिकात्मकता त्यांनी का पाहू नये? स्वातंत्र्यपूर्व काळात म्हणे चलनांवर इंग्रज राजांची चित्रे/मुद्रा होत्या. आता म.गांधीचे चित्र नोटांवर लावल्याने काय भारताची अर्थव्यवस्था सुधारली का चो-या/दरोडे थांबले? त्यांचा अग्रलेख वाचून परप्रांतियांना भलतेच आनंदाचे भरते आलेले दिसते! केतकरांसारख्या ज्येष्ठ पत्रकाराने असला बेजबाबदार अग्रलेख लिहीणे चुकीचे आहे. मागे एकदा त्यांनी ब्राम्हण समाजाच्या मेळाव्यात काहीतरी वादग्रस्त बोलून उपस्थितांकडून शिव्याशाप घेतले होते. या अग्रलेखाबद्दल केतकरांनी (छ्त्रपतींची अवहेलना केल्याबद्दल, सरकारवर टीका केल्याबद्दल नव्हे) मराठी माणसांची माफी मागायला हवी.

केतकरांच्या घरावरील हल्ला कदाचीत भ्याड, लोकशाहीची मुल्ये पायदळी तुडवणारा वैगरे असेल पण सरकारच्या कैवा-यांनी केलेला हा हल्ला म्हणजे 'पाहुण्याच्या काठीने साप मेला' असा आहे!

मराठी चित्रपट पहायचे कुठे? Where to catch Marathi movies?

नुकतंच पुण्याला एक मराठी चित्रपट विषयक कार्यक्रम झाला होता. तेथे मराठी लोकांना चित्रपटगृहात जाऊन चित्रपट पहा असे आवाहन केले गेले. श्वास नंतर मराठी चित्रपट, संगीत यांना चांगले दिवस आलेत हे नक्की पण बहुतेक रसिक चित्रपट डीवीडी/सीडी वर पाहणे पसंत करतात. मीही त्यातला एक. मला विशेषत: नवी मराठी गाणी अत्यंत आवडतात.

ग्राहक हा राजा असतो. चित्रपट-उद्योगाच्या बाबतीत देखिल हे खरं आहे. मराठी चित्रपट चालत नाहीत याचं खापर प्रेक्षकांवर फोडणे गैर आहे. भावनीक आवाहन केले ते ठीक पण मराठी चित्रपट निर्मात्यांना हे सांगावंस वाटतं की तुम्ही चित्रपट तयार केला आहे व तो कुठे दाखवणार आहात याचीच माहिती जर आम्हाला नसेल तर याचा दोष कुणाचा? मराठी वाहिन्यांची भरभराट होत आहे (त्यांना कसे प्रेक्षक मिळतात?) व त्यामुळे 'झबरदस्त' सारख्या चित्रपटांची माहिती होते (या चित्रपटाचा ट्रेलर अत्यंत फालतू बनवला आहे!) पण जर जवळपासच्या कोणत्याच चित्रपटगृहात तो लागला नसेल तर आम्ही कसा बघणार? मराठी चित्रपटांचा लेटेस्ट प्रॉब्लेम म्हणजे चित्रपटगृह मिळत नाहीत हा आहे. आणी हा प्रॉब्लेम प्रेक्षकांनी नाही तर निर्माते व महाराष्ट्र-सरकार यांनी सोडवायचा आहे. जे लोक पुणे शहरात,कोथरुड परिसरात राहतात ते आवर्जून चित्रपट पहायला जातात. प्रभात व सिटीप्राईड मध्ये मराठी चित्रपट चांगला गल्ला कमावतात. याचाच अर्थ की मराठी प्रेक्षक चित्रपटगृहात जाऊन चित्रपट पहावयास तयार आहे पण तो घरच्या जवळ तर लागला पाहिजे ना? उपनगरात राहणारे प्रेक्षक केवळ चित्रपट पहायला शहारात येणार नाहीत. जे थेटर-मल्टिप्लेक्स चालक मराठी चित्रपट दाखवित नाहीत त्यांच्यावर कारवाई करा. आज पुण्यात हिंदी-इंग्रजी सोबत एकेक तमिळ व कन्नड चित्रपट देखिल लागलेत. पैकी शिवाजी (तमिळ) व एक कन्नड चित्रपटास झबरदस्त, एवढंस आभाळ, मु.पो.लंडन या प्रमुख मराठी चित्रपटांपेक्षा जास्त खेळ व थेटर मिळाले आहेत!! ही विषादाची गोष्ट आहे व मराठी चित्रपट महामंडळ व महाराष्ट्र सरकारच यावर काही उपाय करु शकतात.

राज ठाकरे बिहारींना 'चापट' देणार! Raj Thackeray 'slaps' Biharis!

वा! वा! वा! बृहन्मुंबई महानगरपालिकेच्या निकालात 'महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेचा' निकाल
लागल्यावर राज ठाकरे यांना उशिरा का होईना पण शहाणपण सुचले आहे. ते युपी-बिहारी
लोकांना कॉंग्रेस-समाजवादी सारख्या पार्ट्या आपल्याशा वाटतात,ते लोक कदापी
शिवसेना-मनसेला मते देणार नाहीत. का सारखे त्यांच्या मतांसाठी भीक मागता? मराठी
माणसाने 'दणका' दिल्यावर राज यांनी 'युटर्न' घेतला हे बरे झाले. सेनेला स्पर्धा हवीच
नाहीतर हे लोक संजय निरुपम, राम जेठमलानी, प्रितीश नंदी अशा दगडांना पक्षातर्फे संसदेत
पाठवतात. राज ठाकरे यांनी हा मुद्दाच चालवला पाहिजे,किंबहुना ते जे बोलतात ते करुन
दाखवावे अशी मराठी लोकांची त्यांना कळकळीची विनंती आहे.

सहारा समय नामक हिंदी वाहिनी वर जैसवाल, रविशंकर प्रसाद आणि संजय निरुपम याची
'प्रतिक्रिया' विचारली गेली. त्यात संजय निरुपम (लखनऊहून- पाहून आनंद झाला,तेथेच रहा
कायमचा!) असा बोलला की त्यांनी एक बोट दाखविले तर आम्ही 'पाच बोटांनी' उत्तर देऊ!!
युपी-बिहारींची पाच बोटांची असलेले नेते आम्हांस ठाऊक आहेच पण हे नालायक लोक इतके माजले
आहेत की राष्ट्रीय वाहिनीवरुन (आमच्या घरात येऊन) आम्हालाच अक्कल शिकवतात. संजय
निरुपमच्या वक्तव्याने राज ठाकरे जे बोलले ते योग्यच होते याची खात्री पटली. उद्या म्हणे
लालू यादव विलासरावांशी बोलणार आहे.लालूला म्हणावे directly सोनियांशीच बोल ना!
कॉंग्रेसच्या मुख्यमंत्री दिल्लीच्या आन्येबाहेर नाहीत...

Raj's remark on Biharis sparks off controversy

Mumbai, March 9: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray today sparked off controversy by making statement over the increasing number of non-Maharashtrians in the state, Sahara Samay sources said.

Calling on Marathi-speakers to introspect why immigration to this city has increased, Raj Thackeray today said his party will not compromise on Maharashtra's culture and pride.

Addressing a packed gathering of MNS workers on the occasion of his party completing a year, Raj made an impassioned plea to Marathi people by saying, "We must introspect on who is to blamed for this state of affairs.

"After all, it is Maharashtrians who are in top posts in the city and in spite of that, slums have sprung up. It is Maharashtrians who are responsible for this because we have allowed it to happen. We have to introspect on this."

Raj also said, "We cannot progress by hating another community. But if somebody tries to trouble Maharashtrians while living in Mumbai, that will also not be tolerated.

"We will not compromise on Marathi pride and Marathi culture."

Reacting on the statement, Railway Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav condemned his remark on Biharis and said that he will discuss the issue with the Chief Minister tomorrow.

रेल्वे अर्थसंकल्प: महाराष्ट्रावर पुन्हा अन्याय? Railway budget with discrimination against Maharashtra

नेहमी प्रमाणे नेहमीच्या 'बिहारी' रेल्वेमंत्र्यांनी नेहमीच पाने पुसल्या जाणाऱ्या महाराष्ट्रावर या ही वेळेस नेहमीच्या रेल्वे अर्थसंकल्पात अन्याय केला आहे. मला राग आणि विषाद वाटतो तो महाराष्ट्रातील खासदार (members of parliament) यांचा हे लोक, आपल्या राज्याच्या भल्यासाठी लालूंवर दबाव का आणीत नाहीत? मुंबई जी रेल्वेला उत्पन्नाबाबत सिंहाचा वाटा देते तिथे फक्त उत्तर प्रदेश बिहार व अन्य बिमारु राज्यातील गाड्या आणल्या जातात. त्यात भर म्हणून पुणे-गोरखपूर गाडी सुरु केली आहे. माझ्या माहितीप्रमाणे पुण्यातले लोक चुकुनही गोरखपुरला जात नाहीत. आम्हाला औरंगाबाद, नाशिक व नागपुरच्या गाड्या वाढवून हव्या आहेत. पुणे-लोणावळा व पुणे-दौंड उपनगरीय गाड्यांबाबत विचार केला जावा अशी आमची इच्छा. आमच्या ४२ पिढ्यातील कोणीही पुणे-पटना वा पुणे-भागलपूर अशा गाड्या मागितल्या नव्हत्या. आशा पुढील वेळेस रेल्वेमंत्री बिहारचा नसेल. आणि हो, ममता पण नको!
